I composed A Nautical Journey last summer, a piano suite with five solo pieces. The goal in composing A Nautical Journey was to create an image and emotion for several “scenes” in the nautical world. Some pieces are bold and humorous and you may even smile as you listen to "Sir Winfred, the Walrus" and imagine his sweet and dapper manner. Other pieces are lyrical and emotive and you might be able to envision the most serene and peaceful night on the ocean. I hope that students in my studio and in many other studio's enjoy exploring the pieces in this suite and discover a passion for imaginative and scenic playing.
