This past weekend, I was at the FSMTA State Conference and it was absolutely amazing! FSMTA is Florida State's division of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) which is the largest and oldest music organization in USA.
I heard several wonderful and informative presentations in addition to watching Dr. Peter Mack give a Masterclass to three talented students. There was plenty of time to spend some much needed time with several colleagues including a dear friend of mine and fellow teacher, Sharla. I was one of the performers in the Florida State Teacher Recital and the other teachers were absolutely amazing! I met and spoke with Kyle Hackinson (the owner of FJH Publishing) and received so much information and ideas on music books; piano students, get ready to switch over to FJH =).
And to top it all off, I had my wonderful husband, Ryan, join me on the trip and make me feel like the most supported and loved teacher. I feel so reinvigorated to teach and help my students grow musically and I can't wait for the next conference.
