When a Piece brings passion

A friend and colleague recently shared this piece with me and I can hardly believe that I never heard it until now. "To a Wild Rose", Op. 51, No. 1 is written by Edward MacDowell (1861-1908) and this piece exudes passion, emotions, and a connection far more then most pieces that I have played before. While this piece is not particularly difficult, the melody line and harmonic tension that resolves to perfect consonance is all that is needed to pull the audience's attention. Thank you Mr. MacDowell, for writing a truly great work of art.
